D7 Visa: Passive Income

Overview
The D7 visa is for non-EU citizens who can prove regular passive income sufficient to support themselves in Portugal without local employment.
Eligibility requirements
- Have own, stable and regular income, namely from retirement/pension, movable or immovable assets, intellectual property or financial investments.
- Demonstrate guaranteed means of subsistence for a period of no less than 12 months.
- Main applicant: reference amount of €920/month = €11,040 for 12 months, in 2026.
- Second adult and other adults: +50% = €460/month.
- Each minor or dependent adult child: +30% = €276/month.
- Have accommodation arrangements in Portugal.
- Meet the general entry and residence conditions, including no legal bar to entering/staying in Portugal.

- Criminal record certificate from the country of nationality/origin or from the country where the applicant has lived for more than one year
- Authorisation to consult the Portuguese criminal record
- Valid travel insurance covering urgent medical assistance and possible repatriation
- Proof of accommodation arrangements in Portugal
- Proof of means of subsistence
- Proof of lawful status in the country where the application is filed, when not a national of that country (Optional)
- Documents duly legalised/apostilled and translated when required
